I just hate it when I make something and it doesn’t go as planned. Heroine gave me trouble from the beginning, and it’s nothing to do with the pattern, the trouble was all mine. First, I knit the wrong size and deep down inside I knew it. I should have started out with a size smaller but I thought it would all work out in the end. Then, I didn’t quite felt it enough and it was a little too big. And yesterday, when I finally felted it again, I left it in the wash too long and now it’s a little small. I’m really disappointed, I was so looking forward to having a bright green pea coat but now I have a bright green, kinda short jacket. It’s cute, it like it, I just wish it was a few inches longer. I might be able to wet it back down and stretch it out some but I’m not sure how it will work. I did check the after felting measurements on the pattern mine is spot on with the dimensions, mine is about a quarter inch shorter, so this is how it’s supposed to fit. I should have kept a better eye on it while it was washing yesterday but I got busy and forgot about it. Oh, well, these things happen and it isn’t like the coat is a total loss, it’s just a bit short. I can still wear it, it’s comfortable and looks cute and it is really warm, I’ll make due.

I got offered another project from KnitPicks today and it’s a big project that is due back next month so I don’t know how often I’ll be able to post while I’m working on it but I have more to blog about. I started a pair of mittens last night, I’m planning on dyeing up some yarn possibly tomorrow, and I have more weaving to do. I’m thinking about listing some of my woven scarves on Etsy and I have a couple knit scarves planned out. I’ve been reading about Fisherman’s scarves and I think I’d like to try writing my own pattern for a couple and maybe selling the patterns as a set, I don’t know. I’m just really glad that I don’t have much gift knitting, just a dog sweater and a sweater for my mom that can be late.
