The Never-Ending Blanket

Blanket in progress

Here is yet another progress shot of the never-ending diagonal baby blanket.  I have only been knitting this for two weeks but it feels like I should have finished it a long time ago.  This is one of those projects where you can knit and knit and knit until you want to rip your fingers off and when you check your progress you’ve only knit about an inch.  I’m getting there, I don’t have that much to go but I’m so ready to be done.  I’ve let this blanket consume me, I can’t hardly work on anything else (except my work project) because I just want to finish it.  This is really all I’ve been doing craft-wise.  I haven’t touched any of my other projects.  I have been wanting to make some jewelry, though, so I think I’ll mess around with that as soon as the stupid blanket is done.

I went out again last weekend and saw a band called Mountain Sprout (sorry for the MySpace link, they don’t seem to have a webpage, but they do have some music there, I recommend listening to “Dry Counties”).  This is a great little bluegrass band, they’re good musicians and very funny, they put on a really great show.  If I had the money and could get my friends to go I’d head off to Eureka Springs and see them again this Saturday, it’s only a two hour drive.  Anyway, it was a great time, I ran into an old friend that I haven’t seen for about eight or nine years, which was awesome, drank a ton of beer and nasty dollar shots and had a very good time.  I paid for it Sunday, I pretty much felt like I was going to puke the whole day but it was worth it.

I have to spend all day tomorrow getting stuff ready for Thanksgiving and then we’re having dinner here, at my house Thursday.  I don’t know if I’ll have a chance to post the rest of the week or if I’ll even have anything to post about.  If not, have a happy Thanksgiving, Americans!
