Knitting and Stuff

The Faux-Mohair Cowl sweater is coming along nicely.  I’m about halfway done with the first sleeve and should be able to finish it tonight.  I love this sweater so far, it’s very light and airy and very, very, soft.

We’re getting a pretty decent rain shower right now, I can tell it’s spring, we haven’t seen the sun for two days.  Needless to say, I’ve been spending that time planted in front of the TV, watching movies (The Incredibles and The Village) and catching up on some shows (Carnivale and Lost).  I’ve been using that as an excuse to not check my e-mail, so if you’ve left a comment recently that’s why I haven’t answered.  I’m going to try to get to that tomorrow.

For now, it’s another episode of Lost and a few more rows on the sweater!

Just Stuff

I’m too tired to think of a good title today.  For the past week, my cats have been having fun waking me up at 7am, so my sleep schedule is all out of wack and I’m tired all the time.  They will, hopefully, go back to normal soon.

Friday evening I cast on for the Mohair Cowl Pullover in the Winter ‘04 IK.  I’m just about finished with the body of the sweater now and I’ve used only about a skien and a half of yarn.  This is knitting up really fast, it’s very easy.  I’ll probably have it finished Wednesday or Thursday.  I’ll try to get a picture tomorrow.

Capelet

Capelet

Just a quick afternoon post.  Here’s the capelet, I finished it a couple hours ago.  I don’t know if I like it yet.  It’s pretty and all, I think I may want it a little bigger, right now it just covers my sholders, like the one in the book, but I kind of want it to come to the front a little more.  So, I’m trying to block it, eventhough it is acrylic, it just might work.  Now I just have to wait for it to dry.  I had planned on wearing it out tonight but I don’t know if I’ll be able to now and I still don’t know if I’m going anywhere so I may not need it anyway.

Poncho is Done

Poncho

Yippee!  I finished the poncho this morning.  Hopefully my mom will like it and I’ll never have to make another one again.  I used about 2.5 skiens of Lion Brand Homespun in Mediterranean and a size N (9mm) crochet hook, the pattern is available at Lion Brand’s page.

Today I started the Spiderweb Capelet from SnBN out of some fake mohair, Red Heart something-or-another, in purple.  This is a very pretty yarn.  I have two skiens of it and if I have some left over I think I’ll make a scarf.

Tonight and get to babysit and I have to run out and buy a new stud for my nose, I lost my old one.  I had to go about 24 hours without one and the back started to close up so I took a (sterilized) sewing needle and punched through it, ouch!  My poor little nose is so sore today and my makeshift stud (another sewing needle, cut down with a pair of wire cutters and sterilized) isn’t working out very well.
