Progress and a New Project

We’ve had a day of beautiful snow with big fat flakes so I spent the day starting a new project.  I started the Sideways Spencer from the Fall ‘04 IK in sport weight Wool-Ease, which I was able to get gauge with, somehow.  It looks good so far, better than the picture above.  I love this sweater and I think it will look great with a black shirt and my black and gray pinstripe skirt with a little pair of heels (typed that hells the twice).  I think I’ll get some nice dark wood buttons for it, too.

I haven’t forgotten about Mariah either.  I’m working on the hood but it’s very heavy and I have to take a lot of breaks while knitting it.  And it’s hard to sit here with all that weight on my lap, too.  I still think I’ll have it done this week.

Big changes are in the works for the blog.  I’m bored, it’s a new year, and I need some change.  I’m thinking up a new design and I’ll be changing a lot of other stuff, too.  I won’t give it all away now but it will be a slow process to do all this.  I really like putting the bigger images right in the entry instead of linking to a thumbnail (like at the top of the past two day’s entires), so I’ll probably keep my entries this way.  I’m also thinking of taking down some of the older entries, I’ve been blogging here almost three years and my database is huge, that will free up some room for the future.
